Professor Dr. Joost D. de Bruijn, B.Sc., Ph.D.

President & Founder

Joost de Bruijn founded Progentix in 2004 after directing the Bone Tissue Engineering programme at IsoTis SA and showing safety of the technology in feasibility clinical trials. Joost obtained his PhD from Leiden University, The Netherlands and spent part of his time at the Centre for Biomaterials, University of Toronto, Canada. He has ample experience in bone tissue engineering, adult stem cell culturing techniques, and the development of calcium phosphate scaffolds. He holds the Chair in Biomaterials at the Department of Materials of Queen Mary University of London, UK.

Frank-Jan van der Velden

Frank-Jan van der Velden holds a MBA degree from the University of Delft, The Netherlands. He co-founded several companies with now up to 100 employees in various business segments in which he acted as marketing manager, product development manager, and managing director.

Professor Dr. Clemens A. Van Blitterswijk, Ph.D.

Scientific & Business Advisor

Clemens van Blitterswijk is Professor of Biocompatibility at Twente University, The Netherlands. During his career has co-founded four biomedical companies. He acted as CEO of IsoTis NV from 1996 to 2002. In total he raised over 120 Million Euros in funding through equity and/or grants. Resulting from his work 10 implant technologies were brought into clinical evaluation in humans.
